Otello Guarducci

Otello Guarducci emigrated to the United States in 1949. At that time he was considered to be one of the leading young sculptors of Italy. He is noted for his large-scale public sculptures. His work has also graced the collections of Nelson Rockefeller and many other notable collectors. This Italian metal sculptor is now in his third artistic incarnation. His love of sculpture, ranging from the figurative to the abstract, has resulted in major creations of all sizes. His new bronzes were seen recently at his dealer’s gallery on Newbury Street in Boston. He also created the symbol for the famous Marconi Prize. Each year between 1974 and 2000 the sum of $100,000 was given to the recipient of this coveted scientific prize along with a copy of Guarducci’s symbolic bronze. Established in 1974, the Prize celebrates the birthday of the brilliant inventor Guglielmo Marconi (April 25, 1874.)
